About Me

Originally from Peekskill, New York, Brian, already an accomplished guitar player and songwriter sought out a place where he could pursue his passion and talent for music. Already knowing he wanted to write music for film and television he chose Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating in 1998 with his degree in film scoring.

After a brief stint working for the Boston Symphony, ‘Hawk’ moved to San Francisco to be a part of its thriving independent film scene. While there, Brian ingrained himself into the film community by scoring several short films and commercials as well as working on set as both a boom operator and production sound mixer. He also simultaneously led two working jazz bands. Hawk also started working at a Mastering Studio, where he learned the subtler points of audio and really honed his knowledge of studio recording.

Based in Los Angeles, Brian owns and operates Blue Velvet Studios, a full service Post Sound and Music studio located in Hollywood. He is a variable Audio-Swiss-Army-Knife, seeing productions through from first shot to final mix. Working on over 50 Feature Films and amassing well over 100 credits as a Production Sound Mixer, Sound Designer, Sound Editor, Composer and Conductor since 1999.
